Thank you for taking time to visit our school website. We are a school that serves the village of Alltwen and the wider communities of the Swansea Valley. Our talented and dedicated staff work together to ensure that we are a:
‘School with pupils’ wellbeing at heart. It is a community school that works actively with parents to involve them in their child’s education where adults know and care for their pupils well, particularly those who maybe vulnerable to underachievement.’ Estyn 2018
Our ethos enables our pupil’s to become:
“particularly polite and well-mannered when speaking to visitors and that there is clear mutual trust and
respect between pupils and staff.” Estyn 2018
We hope that this website will provide you with an insight into the running of the school, and the opportunities this school can offer your child.
Thank you for looking at our website. If you wish to know more about Alltwen Primary School please contact the school office to arrange a visit.
On the 17th June I was informed that the decision was taken by the Council to progress to the next stage of the proposal to establish a new English-medium 3-11 primary school and to discontinue Alltwen, Godre’rgraig and Llangiwg primary schools.
This means that a statutory notice has now been published and you can view this following the link www.npt.gov.uk/media/15817/statutory-notice.pdf?v=20210617091947 or by requesting a paper copy from the school office. This marks the start of a 28 day objection period (17th June to 14th July) where formal objections to the proposal can be submitted, before a final decision later in the year.
I would encourage you to take this opportunity to make your views known and send your objections to email@example.com or by letter to SSIP, Port Talbot Civic Centre, SA13 1PJ. Please note that even if you have already sent in a response to the consultation you will need to do this again if you want it to be considered as an objection. This is the only direct way to make your views known formally so please make sure you respond in this way before July 14th 2021.
Mr O. G. Hyett
