Year 2 – Weekly Evaluation – 17/09/21

We are feeling ‘On Top of the World’ in our new Year Two class. We are very happy to be back and Mrs Edmunds has said we have all settled very well!

We are really looking forward to the challenges this year and being more independent in our learning.

In Literacy, we have been busy thinking about what makes a good learner. We talked with our friends about all the things we need to do so we can learn lots and lots. We came up with great ideas and made fantastic posters to help us remember.   Mrs Edmunds has told us we will be doing lots of listening and responding games to help us with our oracy skills this term.

In Maths we’ve been practising forming numbers and placing them neatly in our new books. We played lot of number games and thought carefully about the value of the digits. We started our ‘Big Maths’ books today. They were lots of fun! We had five minutes to answer as many additions as we could before the buzzer went. We had to concentrate really hard and be as fast as we could. We were brilliant at it!

Our New Topic is “All about me: sound and hearing”.   We can’t wait for next week to really get started!
