Evaluation of the week beginning with 4th November

A busy first week back after half term.  This week, in topic we have solving Tudor Jewellery problems, working systematically to create patterns.

 

In English, we have been learning about story writing and have written our own stories.  As well as this, we have searched for features of a story and completed a reading task.

 

In Maths, we have used our knowledge of place value and partitioning to split numbers into their values and place 3 digit numbers on a number line.

 

In Forest schools, as part of Fireworks night, we learnt about guy Fawkes and made a model out of natural resources.

 

Year 3.

Weekly evaluation for the beginning with 14th October

Another very busy week in Year 3.  In Forest Schools this week, we used our imagination to create our own potions out of natural things.  In topic, we used a double bubble to compare Tudor and modern day clothes.

In English, we identified simple, compound and complex sentences and wrote our own to improve our writing.

In Maths, we have started our work on time.  This week, we have focused on analogue clocks and revisited o’clock, quarter past, half past and quarter to.

We have had a fantastic week!

Evaluation of the week beginning with 7th October 2019

Another busy week! In the Riverside this week, we played games to help us with our listening skills.  In topic, we learnt about Battle of Bosworth and how Henry Tudor became King.

In English, we practised our Pie Corbett assembly ‘Nail Soup’. The assembly went really well and everybody was proud.

In Maths, we have been learning to partition numbers, and doubled and halved two digit numbers.

Next week, I am looking forward to learning more about the Tudor Monarch.

Evaluation of the week beginning with 30th September 2019

Wow! Another busy week! On Tuesday, we started our Forest School sessions at the Riverside Educational Centre. We had a little nature hunt to find different woodland creatures. We saw pond skaters in the canal and heard lots of different species of birds.

In English, we have prepared for our Pie Corbett assembly.  Our story is ‘Nail Soup’.

In Maths, we have been looking at our 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 times tables.

 

It has been an exciting week. We are looking forward to another session at the Riverside next Tuesday.

Evaluation of the week beginning with 23rd September 2019

Waw! What a busy week! This week we went on our trip to Llancaiach Fawr learn about the Tudors as part of our new topic Off With Her Head.  We learnt lots of new things about the life of children during Tudor times and have lots of new traditional games to play.

 

In English, we have been learning about adjectives and adverbs, using them to add interest into our sentences.

 

In Maths, we’ve been using our knowledge of place value to add and subtract 2 digit numbers.

Evaluations 20th September

Wow! What a busy week!

This week, we walked to Cwmtawe Leisure Centre to watch the Neath Port Talbot’s Music Service Roadshow. The peripatetic teacher’s performed a variety of songs from Lion King and The Greatest Showman.  After the performance, we were able to try out some cool instruments.  Our favourite was the French Horn.

 

In English, we have been looking at features of a recount text.  We have also been looking at past tense verbs.  This was challenging!

 

In Maths, we have had lots of fun completing practical Place Value in 3 digit number.

 

Next week, I am looking forward to our trip to Llancaiach Fawr!
